Trump & Mueller Headed for "Constitutional Confrontation" — Senator Blumenthal

President Donald Trump plans to spend some time in NY while he takes a break from Washington.

Former general John Kelly was hired as Donald Trump's new chief of staff on July 28 to "restore order" to a chaotic White House. He also said that he had a high draft number, which is his usual excuse for not serving in the military during the Vietnam war.

But it's Blumenthal who has drawn the most fire.

Trump called Blumenthal a "phony Vietnam con artist" Monday morning in a series of tweets against the senator, after he made comments against the Trump administration during an appearance on CNN Monday. Blumenthal served in the Marine Reserve from 1970 to 1976. But the New York Times revealed that he had received military deferments.

He went after some of his most consistent targets, including The New York Times and Senator Richard Blumenthal, Democrat of CT. Trump had recently attacked a "so-called judge" for blocking his travel ban.

It is interesting to see Senator Richard Blumenthal of CT talking about the false Russian conspiracy when he was an artist of deceit in the Vietnam issue, said Trump on the legislator, who today made critical declarations of the Government to CNN network.

Blumenthal responded several hours later, accusing Trump of "bullying", and saying "no one is above the law". "That investigation must be pursued". "What I do know about is I will not be distracted by this bullying".

The tweets are yet another moment in which Trump, who is generally supported by veterans and staffed his cabinet and advisers with senior officers, has opened himself to criticism over the military, including from conservatives.

'Never in U.S.history has anyone lied or defrauded voters like Senator Richard Blumenthal. "It is a risky world out there - it's scary, like Vietnam", Trump told Stern about the effort to avoid sexually transmitted diseases in the 80s and 90s, as the AIDs crisis blossomed.

Blumenthal had also embraced a special counsel's probe of Russian meddling in the election and possible collusion with Trump campaign officials. Blumental's false statements were exposed in 2010, but there was no evidence he spoke of specific battles or conquests, the newspaper reported.

Connecticut Senator Richard Blumenthal has become the center of President Trump's recent vacation tweet-storm - and it's not the first time Trump has called the Senator out for misrepresenting his service in Vietnam.

Trump responded to Blumenthal's comments on Russian Federation in a tweetstorm just minutes later.

As far as Blumenthal, he's using the attacks to help raise funds for his re-election campaign in 2020. That was across a tirade of three tweets. There is a federal special counsel investigation. "No one is above the law", Blumenthal tweeted Monday morning.

Blumenthal was married in 1982 and has four children.

"The Malkins and Trump were very much rivals over the Empire State building", said Peter Slatin, a specialist in the NY commercial real estate market.
