Gaza Rocket Hits Near Southern Israeli City of Ashkelon

Gaza terrorists launched a rocket attack at southern Israel at around 9 pm on Tuesday night. "No injuries have been reported".

The Israeli military said in a statement that in response to the projectile attack in the Hof Ashkelon Regional Council earlier Tuesday, "IAF aircraft targeted two Hamas posts in the northern Gaza Strip".

"Some time ago a shell hit an open area in the district (city ed.) Ashkelon".

Videos and photos, allegedly of the Israeli strikes, were circulating on social media.

Medical sources said the soldiers injured seven Palestinians, including one who suffered life-threatening wounds, after the army fired missiles into two areas northwest of the Gaza Strip.

Despite the tensions over Jerusalem's Temple Mount this summer, there have been only a few instances of rocket fire from Gaza landing in Israel. "The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization exclusively responsible for the occurrences in the Gaza Strip", the IDF Spokesperson said in a statement.

Seven Palestinians were injured and moved to a city hospital where one of them was reported in critical condition.

"The occupation claims that a group from Gaza launched rockets at them, but there is no side in Gaza that has claimed responsibility".
