More Captain America In Spider-Man: Homecoming Blu-Ray

Despite the potential, it seems May's hero's moment didn't make the cut.

Spider-Man: Homecoming continues to prove that the webslinger is finally back on track with a $12.3M Monday - the biggest for a superhero movie this year and the second-biggest in the history of the entire Spider-Man franchise. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.).

The superhero reboot, which features British actor Tom Holland as web-slinging high school student Peter Parker, debuted with takings of $12 million (£9.3 million) over the weekend (07-09Jul17). Even his best nerd friend, Ned (Jacob Batalon), tries to push him to talk to Liz. Only Spider-Man 2 had a better first Monday at $27.7M, a figure which was boosted due to that movie getting a boost from the Independence Day release window. Peter is really just like any other awkward 15-year-old as he constantly battles with his ego and faces issues like asking Liz to the homecoming dance, or if he can stop the Vulture (Michael Keaton) from destroying the world.

Did you know that when the newest and youngest Spider-Man, Tom Holland, was in Singapore recently to promote Spider-Man: Homecoming, he also visited KK Women's and Children's Hospital, dressed in character, to cheer up the children at the hospital? Sure we saw Spider-Man trying to save his local bank, the Washington Monument, and the ferry, but that was about it.

This family-friendly version of "Spider-Man" comes with a 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
