After deleting prior tweet, Trump asks world to find out 'covfefe' meaning

Trump tweeted "Despite the constant negative press covfefe", a clause with no context, at 12:06 a.m. ET Wednesday.

Not for the first time, a Trump tweet has lit up the internet. Trump, who realised the hullabaloo his tweet had stirred up on the micro-blogging site, deleted it and posted another tweet that only added to the chaos - "Who can figure out the true meaning of "covfefe"???".

"Despite the constant negative press covfefe", read the United States leader's short tweet sent yesterday.

When asked who she thought was guiding the Russians, she said, "I'm leaning Trump".

But the tweet confirms several things that we've known since Trump took office: He's rogue.

Questioning what the last word "covfefe" meant, people ended up retweeting the tweet more than 100K times in a few hours.

For his part, Donald Trump is taking the whole uproar over "covfefe" in jest, according to CNET. Air France U.K. tweeted, "Breaking Our newest destination is sunny #Covfefe!".

Mr. Trump's Twitter critics were sidetracked from their mission - which is to obsess about the President's alleged secret connections with Russian President Vladimir Putin - but only momentarily.

American television show host Jimmy Kimmel tweeted: "What makes me saddest is that I know I'll never write anything funnier than #covfefe".

But it has been a favourite word of his even before he had launched his presidential bid or was complaining about the media. With this latest "covfefe", someone who writes tweets for the dictionary publisher wrote: "Wakes up". While people made jokes of the word and used it in various sentences to poke fun at the POTUS, the tweet got no clarifications and remained just where it was, for several hours, without even being deleted. "I hate to use that word, but it really was".
