Tip-in by Ryan lifts Senators over Bruins 4-3 in overtime

Ottawa's Erik Karlsson, Ryan, and Derick Brassard all have four points in the series.

The #Sens speak to media following today's 4-3 OT win over the Boston Bruins.

The Senators struck quickly with two goals in a span of 35 seconds in the first that left the probably left the Bruins wondering what it was going to take.

"Those are the fun games you like to play in".

Through the opening two games of the series, the Senators have turned the puck over a whopping 36 times to just 17 for Boston, which played no small part in the Bruins' Game 1 victory.

The more intense the Ottawa Senators-Boston Bruins series becomes, the more fun it is for Kyle Turris. "I take a lot away from it, from a personal standpoint, but as a team though it was great to get that first one and now get ready for Game 2". It's the first playoff game in Boston in three years, but something tells us the Senators will overcome a slow start and finish strong.

After only registering three shots on net in the first period, the Bruins found themselves down 3-0 just a few minutes into the second period after a power play goal from Ottawa's Mike Hoffman 3:42 into the period.

However, Bobby Ryan scored at 5:43 in overtime to close out the win for the Senators, who now take a 2-1 series lead.

"Obviously, it's the playoffs and you want to get out there and play as soon as you can", he said.

The Senators haven't done things the easy way this season, so why would they start now.

Anderson stopped all nine shots Boston sent his way in the third and Rask brushed aside seven to send the game to overtime.

And Boucher isn't allowing himself to entertain thoughts of the Senators returning to Ottawa with a 3-1 series lead. When Chris Wideman's shot from the point slipped under his glove in the third period, Rask seemed to lose his composure. We don't have pretty much anything to change, it's just the second period, we have to stay out of the box. Miller will be paired with John-Michael Liles for Game 4, according to Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy. If the Bruins are going to even the series they need more production from Marchand. Although not almost as physical as other teams in the East, they'll no doubt continue to send their forwards crashing into the zone and looking to lay a body (or some lumber) on Boston's 6-foot-9 defensive lynchpin.

The event capped an exciting weekend of sports in the New England city that also included an National Basketball Association postseason game between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls and a weekend home stand for the Boston Red Sox.

Karlsson is the best defenseman on the planet.

The Senators, of course, aren't completely in the clear when it comes to injuries - particularly on their blue line.

DUCKS: Anaheim reassigned left wing Ondrej Kase to its AHL affiliate in San Diego, likely clearing room for Nick Ritchie to make his playoff debut.

He said there is potential for Borowiecki to play Monday, but noted the club has extra defencemen with Fredrik Claesson and Ben Harpur, so if there's risk involved it may be better to be cautious and give somebody else a chance.
