Bollywood icon Vinod Khanna breathed his last on Thursday. He was reportedly suffering from bladder cancer. Khanna separated from his first wife, Geetanjali, in 1985.

Veteran actor Vinod Khanna, one of the most handsome yesteryear-heroes of Bollywood, passed away at a Mumbai hospital on Thursday. Right from films to politics, Vinod Khanna and I sailed together and he leaves behind an entire generation & more of fans, admirers. Although Vinod Khanna was busy with political career, he did not opt of movies. In his last film Dilwale, he played the father of Shah Rukh Khan and Varun Dhawan's characters. He was last seen on-screen in Hema Malini-starrer Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi, which released on April 21.

In 1997, Khanna became a member of parliament on the ticket of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party.
