Packers set to release running back Christine Michael

Green Bay needed to bring a talented body into camp to push these incumbents for the starting jobs, and King fits the bill.

That's the question on everyone's mind two days after the 2017 NFL Draft.

"If you looked at old pictures of me growing up, it was all green and gold. I was wearing cheeseheads".

BYU's all-time leading rusher was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 2017 National Football League draft - the 134th overall pick. He ranks seventh in school history with 6.1 yards per carry.

Baker, a Bellevue native, was also projected as a fringe first-or-second-round pick. Adams was a second-team All-SEC selection during his senior year at Auburn after tallying 44 tackles (8 ½ for a loss) and a career-best 4½ sacks.

After a 1,300-yard, 11-TD season in 2014, an ankle injury cost him most of 2015 before he came back for a big finish in 2016, earning first-team All-Conference USA and third-team All-America honors.

While never the best player on Wisconsin's defense, Biegel became its most visible and vocal leader and was consistently dependable when healthy. "(Tom) Coughlin here there's no margin for error for him off the field".

With the first pick of the fourth round (108th overall), the Packers selected Wisconsin linebacker Vince Biegel. He appeared in three games with one start in the middle of the season before he was placed on injured reserve on November 16. It was his 4.43 40-yard dash, vertical leap of 39.5 inches, and three-cone drill and 20-yard shuttle times that were the fastest of any players at the combine that really turned heads.

Packers personnel executive Alonzo Highsmith spoke to the media on Saturday and compared Biegel to Watt. "I don't think it's a negative thing". "He made a name for himself". This is not our grandfathers' football that we're playing at this day and age.

Draft ace Justis Mosqueda breaks down Green Bay's draft and is a fan of the team getting King first in the second round, where he didn't expect the Washington cornerback to fall to.

An NFL journeyman, Michael was claimed by the Packers after being waived by the Seattle Seahawks a year ago.

Jamaal Williams, a running back, had his junior year at BYU derailed by a knee injury and a team suspension prior to taking a year off from school, but he was a major factor for the Cougars whenever he was in the backfield. Those players are tight end Wyatt Houston (Kansas City Chiefs), offensive linemen Jake Simonich (Houston Texans) and Austin Stephens (Carolina Panthers), cornerback Daniel Gray (Arizona Cardinals), defensive end Ricky Ali'ifua (Chiefs) and safety Marquan Ellison (Seattle Seahawks).

The Washington cornerback was taken by Green Bay as the first selection in the second round.

The Packers had two more picks on Friday with their own selections in the second (61st overall) and third rounds (93rd overall). Football is about explosiveness, speed, athletic ability. It's rare that the Packers will have a standout player from the Badgers on their team. They moved back six spots from No. 30 and selected wide receiver Jordy Nelson early in the second round in a trade with the New York Jets.

Time will tell if Biegel feels any of that pressure, though he certainly seems to have the personality to deal with being a mulleted state hero.

Denver began Round 5 by taking MI tight end Jake Butt, a potential first-rounder until he tore up his knee in the Orange Bowl.
