LeBron James, Cavs sweep Pacers, advance to second round of National Basketball Association playoffs

The Cleveland Cavaliers finally caught a break. Instead, James was among the league leaders in minutes, averaged 26.4 points, 8.6 rebounds and 8.7 assists (the latter two both career highs) and kept a Cavaliers team that played through a host of injuries and changing parts chugging along throughout the season.

For the Cavaliers, the play of Irving and James set the tempo for the visitors, scoring 14 of Cleveland's first 16 points.

Indiana Pacers forward Paul George (13) takes a shot against Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith (5) in game three of the first round of the 2017 NBA Playoffs at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. I thought turning the ball over 19 times and giving them 24 points off our turnovers really hurt us.

"We had the necessary fight we have been lacking during the series, but we just came up short in the end", Turner said. Three times, the game came down to the final minute, when James thrived.

After a mad scramble, George got an open look at a potential game-tying 3-pointer with a handful of seconds remaining, but his shot was long.

Marcus Johansson stuffed his second goal of the game past Frederik Andersen at 6:31 of overtime, lifting the Washington Capitals to a series-winning 2-1 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday night.

For Indiana, it will go down as yet another tormenting chapter in their rivalry with James.

LeBron hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:07 left and the Cavs hung on as James moved to 52-0 in the playoffs when taking a double-digit lead into the fourth quarter.

The Cavaliers completed a four-game sweep of the Pacers with a 106-102 victory Sunday to become the first team to advance to the second round of the 2017 National Basketball Association playoffs.

Lance Stephenson led the Pacers with 22 points. They are facing much lower percentage to win the series entering Sunday, so it'll take a lot of magic to trick their players into believing.

In Game 4, it was a full-team effort, as the Cavaliers sent Paul George and the Pacers packing for the offseason. I try to make them believe we can be great every night, no matter who's on the floor with me.

George and the Pacers won't give up in Game 4, sure to show some pride in front of their home fans.

Thomas answered with back-to-back layups and scored 10 points in a 12-0 run that gave the Celtics a 75-65 lead, and they withstood a push by the Bulls early in the fourth. Irving continued to be te No. 2 option of the Cavaliers in the offense while Kevin Love scored only five points but with 16 rebounds.

The Pacers shot 46.6 percent in the four-game series.

Chris Paul totaled 27 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds to lead Los Angeles. He didn't drop any hints about which way he's leaning after the game and there has been rampant speculation he could be traded this summer.

"I'm not at that point yet. Next question", George said.

If the series goes a full seven games, the Cavs might have more than a full week between Sunday's 106-102 victory and their next game.

A recurring theme throughout the series has been Oklahoma City's tendency to lose leads when Westbrook sits in the second half.
