Millions of Orthodox Christians celebrate Easter

In Kerala thousands of faithful thronged churches for holy prayers as Christians across the state celebrate Easter to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ after crucifixion. Remember what I said about Christmas being the foundation and Easter being the hope and power of Christianity. As is tradition, the Holy Fire, which symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus Christ, was delivered to Moscow from Jerusalem for the solemn liturgy.

In short, if Jesus Christ did not die in payment for sin; if Jesus Christ did not defeat death and rise in triumph; if Jesus Christ isn't alive today; if Jesus Christ isn't Who He said He was, then you are on your own. There are people who are visiting family, college students are home, shut ins make a special effort because it is Easter. More than 50 people, young and old, celebrated Easter by crossing the tidal causeway during the annual Christian pilgrimage.

They saw an angel who told them, "Don't be afraid!"

"There was a pious, young priest; who lived nearly fully on yeast; "for", he said, "it is plain; we must all rise again; and I want to get started at least".

Senator Oluremi Tinubu representing Lagos Central Senatorial District has said the occasion of Easter has offered Nigerians another opportunity to redeem the nation from the challenges that have kept her down.

"...just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life". Keys indicate authority. And Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me".

For many religions, Easter Sunday is a day of celebration together.

Nobody knows who pinned it to the wood of the cross, it was eventually taken down, but I wish it had remained, for the answer to the question is at the heart of the resurrection of Christ from the dead.

"The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name". What you see is what you get. That first day of the week is the day that we worship.

I hope you know that Jesus is here with us every day and we should be thankful for that.

Hot cross buns are also a traditional snack for this time of year.

The Rev. Billy Graham summed up the message of Easter well when he said, "God proved his love on the cross".

Christian believers are convinced that something happened on the first Easter so powerful that it altered the course of all human history, and gave to the uncounted millions a radiant expectation of ongoing life beyond the veil, which separates this world from the next.
