Giants' 2017 regular season schedule announced

One of the spoils of being champion: The New England Patriots will kick off the National Football League season September 7 by hosting the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs had been the rumored Opening Night matchup for about a week now.

While the Falcons offense make every game a must-watch event, there are plenty of matchups that catch the eye and should be marked on everyone's calendars in 2017.

Raiders 2017 regular-season scheduleWeek 1: Sunday, Sept. 10, at Tennessee, 10 a.m. (CBS) Comment: Raiders will play in Nashville a third-straight season. Past year the Jets went just 2-6 at home games and their quarterback situation has not improved in the interim. It won't be quite the same without him.

The Patriots-Raiders game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. They'll have an NFL-high four games against teams coming off their bye and a net total of minus-22 days of rest compared to their opponents. Since then they've made some big additions, including star receiver DeSean Jackson. Now, we know when they will be playing against those teams. That certainly remains to be seen. They will then host the Denver Broncos and New York Giants, followed by a game at the Kansas City Chiefs and then at home against the Cowboys. The 49ers might not be able to pry franchise-tagged quarterback Kirk Cousins from the Redskins until next offseason for that.

The Falcons may get a taste of something familiar when they meet the Bills this year, who are now being coached by former Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott.

Week 5 (Oct. 8) @ Texans, 7:30 p.m.

The team hosts a Super Bowl rematch against the Atlanta Falcons in prime time in Week 7, on October 22. In Mexico City, the team will face a tough opponent that projects to be in the race for the AFC's top seed yet again. This would have been the NFC championship game, albeit in Dallas, had the Cowboys not been upset in a conference semifinal by the Packers.

The Patriots will take on their AFC East rivals the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins twice each.

Sunday, Nov. 19, at Oak.

Francesa just announced the #Giants 2017 schedule on air. The game is the second regular-season contest to be played in Mexico in two years, both with the Raiders as the home team.

Week 10 vs. New England Patriots, Sun. Some of them are pretty good!

Sunday, Dec. 3: New England at Buffalo, 1:00 p.m. The annual road game against the Jets is always fun. It's the Raiders' final home game of the regular season.
